Welcome to Year 2! We are about to have a wonderful Autumn term. Our overall topic will be 'Intrepid Explorers' where we will go on a journey around the world, across seas, oceans and continents. What animals will we learn about? What places will we visit through stories and photos? Who discovered parts of the world? Are there still more places to be discovered?? The world is our oyster. So let's get started....all aboard and hold tight as we set sail into a a world of exciting learning! Mrs Barker and the Year 2 team x

Year 2 Gallery 2024 - 2025

What a busy start! In Maths we learnt about place value. We need to know how to partition numbers into tens and ones and then in other ways! Then we ordered and compared numbers. Finally we were counting forwards and backwards in 2s 5s and 10s. We are now moving on to addition and subtraction.

In English we have been learning our new Talk 4 Writing story 'Meerkat Mail'.

In Year 2 we are 'Intrepid Explorers!!' so we need to name and locate the 7 continents.

In art we are looking at a very famous painting called 'The Great Wave'. We have recreated it so far using coloured pencils and watercolours.

IN PSHE we are thinking about 'Rights and Responsibilities'. We decided on some class rules and thought about how we are ALL responsible for making Year 2 a safe, happy place.
